The first phase of BSG briquette prototyping focused on experimenting with Brewer’s Spent Grain (BSG) as a sustainable fuel alternative. Different compositions and binding techniques were explored to develop a briquette with suitable strength, burning efficiency, and calorific value. The second phase of BSG briquette prototyping focused on refining the initial prototype by testing improved compositions and production techniques. The team evaluated the briquettes for strength, consistency, burning performance, and overall efficiency, using the findings to identify improvements and move closer to a viable, industry-ready fuel alternative.
The third phase of BSG briquette prototyping focused on further refining the briquette formulation and production process. Building on insights from earlier trials, the team worked towards improving the briquettes’ strength, combustion efficiency, and consistency. This phase helped establish a more refined prototype with greater potential for practical application as a sustainable fuel alternative.
