The college strongly believes in prioritizing the mental wellbeing of the students and undertakes diligent efforts to establish healthy relations with them. The college has been running a mentor-mentee programme wherein the students choose a faculty member as their mentor, with whom they may express themselves and get help contemplating and managing their emotions.
The institute also has a professional counsellor Ms. Anisha Batra (M.Phil Clinical Psychology, registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India), with whom the students may book an appointment for seeking consultation. All these steps have been taken to ensure that the students get increased confidence and decision-making skills, they are able to accept themselves and gain self-esteem, while gaining a greater degree of self -awareness. On a deeper level, such measures help relief the students of their anxiety, depression and other related mental health disorders.
In addition to individual counselling, group sessions, awareness talks, and workshops on mental well-being, stress management, and work-life balance are conducted throughout the academic year as part of the college’s mental health initiative under the Student Counselling Services, SSCBS DU.
