NSS SSCBS is a student-run fraternity that aims to foster the feelings of social service among the students and provides them with a platform where they can make a difference to the society. Our volunteers have been working rigorously on a plethora of humane activities like literacy drives, community healthcare, and women empowerment. They stay true to their motto ‘Not Me But You’. The aim of the organization is to produce socially responsible managers and work for the all round development of the nation.
A team of volunteers from NSS SSCBS was involved in closely monitoring the availability and organizing hospital beds and other necessities in Delhi NCR and other states during April-May 2021 when the deadly second wave of COVID-19 had hit the country. As the resources like medicines, oxygen beds, oxygen tanks, etc were draining out at a rapid pace, the volunteers stepped up and kept verifying leads of these resources every minute.
This project aims at promoting women safety, overcoming gender stereotypes and creating awareness with regards to reducing gender-based violence. By conducting a series of sessions and workshops, we will develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive approaches to prevent and respond to sexual harassment against women and girls in public spaces in different settings. We are also planning to organise self-defence workshops for women under the guidance of trained professionals.
The Project aims at bringing the most needed awareness on how important it is to talk about the mental health issues people face. Under Project ‘Chetna’ through different webinars, sessions and anonymously floated google forms for the public to bring up the issues faced by them, we let people know the fact that it’s absolutely to talk about mental health and problems that come along.

Project WOW
We aim to reduce and reuse the waste within the college premises by collecting, reducing, reusing, recycling, and appropriate disposal of waste. We will also implement a variety of initiatives to reduce trash generation and management one of which would be the installation of e-waste collection bins at various locations across Delhi and channelising the collected e-waste to eco-friendly formal recyclers from time to time during the entire year. NSS will work to develop an eco-friendly sustainable campus and disseminate the concept of eco-friendly culture to the nearby community and wherever possible. Also, NSS has collaborated with ITC under the WOW initiative to promote awareness about the importance of source segregation and recycling to ensure effective practice. We aim to collaborate with local municipalities to train waste workers and rag-pickers in these concepts and to provide an efficient collection system that covers virtually all segments: households, offices, schools, hospitals, commercial establishments, etc.
