The team worked towards enhancing its flexibility, strength, texture, and durability while addressing limitations identified in the first prototype. This phase helped bring the material closer to a functional and sustainable leather alternative.

The fourth phase of BSG briquette prototyping focused on finalising and optimising the briquette formulation based on learnings from previous trials. The team further refined the production process to achieve improved strength, consistency, and combustion performance. This phase represented a key step towards developing a scalable and practical BSG-based alternative to coal.

The third phase of bio-leather prototyping focused on translating the refined BSG-based material into a practical, marketable product. The team successfully developed wallets using the bio-leather prototype, testing its functionality, durability, and finish. This phase demonstrated the material’s potential for real-world applications while further validating BSG as a sustainable alternative to conventional leather.

As part of Project Dravya, the team visited the Ganga Social Foundation to understand the community’s needs and explore opportunities for collaboration. The visit involved meaningful interactions with the NGO and helped the team gain insights into community engagement, implementation challenges, and potential avenues for creating sustainable livelihood opportunities through the project.
