Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies Branch of the Institute of Management Accountants is a student-run chapter of IMA. IMA is one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession. The mission of IMA SSCBS, the first of its kind student-run chapter in India, is to provide a forum for research, practice development, education, knowledge sharing, and the advocacy of the highest ethical and best business practices in management accounting and finance. Through the chapter, we aim to provide students with a wide array of opportunities to enhance their leadership experience through mentoring, recognition programs, networking opportunities, etc., as well as inspire the next generation of accounting and finance professionals.

Accolades in competitions

The inter-college competitions participated by our society members include institutions like SRCC, Hansraj College, Hindu College, Lady Shri Ram College, Gargi College, IIFT, IICT and many more. The centric theme of all the competitions our team members participated in was linked to either creating real life impacts, evaluating the market trends to identify the profitable stocks or solving corporate, management and consulting-based cases. Positions secured were winners, first runners-up and among the top 10 finalists at a national level. IMA SSCBS aim to render best performances in the future as well and expand our diversity.

Knowledge Sharing Sessions

Knowledge Sharing Sessions were regularly organized for the freshman on various topics that are essential for consulting & finance like Guesstimates and MS Excel.

Case Study Competitions

To give juniors firsthand experience of the case competition world, IMA SSCBS conducted an intra college case competition, STRATEGM.

IMA SSCBS organized MANAGEMENT MAZE, a case study competition under the college’s annual fest Crescendo 2023 on 19th April, 2023.  It witnessed 500+ participations that challenged the business acumen and problem solving skills of the participants.

IMA SSCBS organized its first flagship offline event, CHAKRAVYUH 2023 on 27 April 2023. It was an enriching platform where the competitors needed to display their analytical skills and business acumen. They were required to come up with efficient and plausible solutions and strategies. It witnessed 900+ registrations from prominent institutions like SRCC, XLRI & NMIMS etc. Intellectual Property Creation

Live Projects Completed

IMA SSCBS recently collaborated with BetaFin partners, a budding startup in the Gig Industry, for a Live project, conducting a detailed market analysis and projecting, building a pathway for BetaFin Partners in the Industry. With this Live Project, we were able to impart knowledge of industry and inculcate research & analytical skills.

IMA SSCBS collaborated with Finanddata, an organization that provides news and insights about the stock market, finance, and data science founded by Mr. Yash Gupta, for an equity research Live Project which equipped the members of us with the knowledge of various macroeconomic indicators and usage of these indicators for analyzing an economy, financial ratios, performing sectoral/industrial research, financial modelling.
