Illuminati, the Quizzing Society of SSCBS, the name stands for a society of the illuminated or the intelligentsia. That is what we are all about and hence, our motto is Pounce? Paisa$ Party!

Founded in 2011, we at Illuminati take pride in doing well in quizzes because we are able to infer things better and not because we think we know more. A quiz is not a test of your memory, but your ability to infer. Quizzing is not about spending sleepless nights memorizing information. Rather good quizzing is about connecting unconnected things, and inferring the answer by trusting instincts; and all of that within a tight deadline.

Fundaes are what we love and it shows in our position across the Delhi circuit. We pride ourselves on the fact that we have 100+ laurels including various national level competitions. We also organise the Quiz Fest, which comprises of the circuit’s only QuizBowl. From Modi to McKinsey and from BTS to Batman, you probably could say we know it all. And it’s always Pounce over Bounce.
Our goal is to present the adventure of knowledge to the students through the medium of quizzing. Having participated in and hosted innumerable quizzes, and having gathered a wealth of knowledge that is unmatched, we aspire to give back to the next generation of quizzers and intellectuals.

The members of Illuminati don’t focus on triumphing in every quiz that they participate in. It is about the thrill of the competition and due to that fact, this society is deemed as one of the best in quizzing circuit. Some our achievements in the past year include:

CBS QuizFest’20 –The annual quizfest of SSCBS organized by Illuminati, witnesses the participation of connoisseurs of the game seeking an opportunity to rise above all. It isn’t just an ordinary quiz but something that rattles the minds of the participants. The gripping face-off rounds that teams go through after the written quiz leave everyone craving for more. Some regret not being confident enough to speak out their answers while others still facepalm thinking of how they pressed the buzzer by mistake leading to a negative point. The opportunities in this competition, however, are rampant for every team to prove their caliber and emerge victorious at the end. This year there were 6 quizzes as a part of Quizfest’20:

CBS School Quiz – A one of it’s kind pounce and bounce quiz organised for school students. This was the first time such an event was conducted for school students in the SSCBS campus and saw participation from numerous institutions of Delhi-NCR by students of all grades willing to gain knowledge through this fun competition.

Intra-CBS Freshers’ Quiz –This was the first competition that welcomed the first years to the college and gave them a taste of the true CBS life as well as a break from all the corporate exposure being thrown around by others.

The OnePlus Quiz – Illuminati, in association with OnePlus at DU, organised a one of its kind business quiz. The quiz left the crowd scratching their heads and hands pounding the table as tickets to the Comedy Night by Rahul Subramanian awaited the winner and goodies from OnePlus.

The Cadenza Quiz – NITK Surathkal conducted Cadenza – The National Quiz in SSCBS for the first time, proctured by Illuminati. An extensive intra-college quiz which saw quizzes competing to become the national champion.

Illuminati plans to keep carrying forward its quizzing legacy forward by continuing to acquire 100+ podium finishes in the DU Quizzing circuit as well as national events. Each year we try to impart knowledge through this fun activity in our Quizfest and for the participants, a faceplaming experience for missing out on the answers to the most obvious questions.

We hope to take on more fresh quizzers entering the CBS grounds in our team “nerds” and make the next victors of the circuit.
